The product was installed at Nirvana Spa, a luxury health club in Berkshire. For this shoot it was vital that we captured the premium nature of the product in situ, as well as mentioning it’s ease of installation and hard wearing nature.
Filming
We took along our trusty Sony Fs7 camera, as well as our 3 point lighting set up, and other equipment necessary for filming a construction video.
Thankfully the day of the shoot was dry, but also overcast – not ideal for an outdoor filming day! We proceeded anyway, with an eye on how we could colour-grade the footage in post-production. We conducted interviews with staff to use as an element within the edit, and also focused on making the decking look as fantastic as possible. Our director co-opted some of the Spa staff to be our actors for the day, and pretend to be clients at the Spa. Our camera-person made sure to capture elements of the installation that the client had requested, and then it was back to base for the edit process to begin!
Post-production
Our main focus during post-production was to make the day look as if it had been bright and sunny. We achieved this during the grading process by brightening the footage, ‘faking’ blue skies and adding a warm, highly contrasted tone to all of the rushes. We processed the sound, added music and some informative graphics in the clients specified style, and we were ready to go. Everyone involved with the project was very pleased with the final result!
