Newcastle City Council

Foster a Future| TV Commercial

This is the second TV commercial that we have made for Newcastle City Council. Following the success of our previous collaboration, Big Yellow Feet were chosen again to bring their latest advert to the small screen.

The advert is for the councils fostering service and follows on the heels of our previous commercial for the council’s adoption service. Like the first TV commercial we took the project right through from concept to delivery.

Newcastle had some key messages to get across including target demographics, social responsibility and a generally positive feel to the whole advert and we produced a number of concepts for selection to give the client maximum choice to fit their brief.

From our initial ideas and in collaboration with Newcastle City Council we developed a script and used Clearcast for script approval.

We shot the TV commercial on an Arri Alexa camera, often used on feature films, and this produced rich and vibrant, high quality images. We then edited and graded the advert in-house on our Avid Symphony suite. The voiceover was supervised by our director at a London recording studio, and laid onto the final piece back here at BYF. The whole project was then supplied to ITV through Adstream.

The shoot was a pretty straightforward live action affair with both an interior and outside location. For that authentic Geordie flavour we shot the TV commercial on location in Newcastle and cast four local actors including two child actors for the roles.
