…and our studio has proved very popular – here’s a breakdown of two very different sessions as examples of our versatility:
We were contacted by property strategist Mike Frisby about recording a podcast. He’d previously dabbled in podcasting and was looking to dive in again at a more professional level – he’s based in London & Surrey and our location is conveniently located for both!
Mike’s podcast is about the impact of the imminent general election on property investors, looking at areas of policy difference between the main parties. Mike’s co-host for this show was Toby Spainer, another property developer and one of Mike’s protégés.
After the guys arrived, we discussed the format over coffee and arrived at a plan of doing three separate episodes, each discussing different areas of policy and the property market. Recording a few different episodes of a series in the same session is an efficient and cost effective way for content creators to have a few episodes ‘in the bag’ in advance, and then released on a schedule.
Once this was decided, we sat the guys down in the studio for our expert technician to set sound and lighting levels, and began the sessions. The guys had a lot to discuss, so this was a 3 hour recording session, with some coffee breaks of course! Our podcast studio is set up so that we cut between the cameras during the session, meaning that we can provide a final edited video file on a fast turnaround – in this case the very next day – ready for our clients to upload to their platform of choice.

At the Big Yellow Feet podcast studio we are also equipped with high-speed internet, and the ability to live stream video and audio. This came in very useful when we asked by politicology.com, a well-known podcast in the US discussing all things political, if we could welcome a contributor who was visiting the UK and patch in to their recording session in the States. Of course we said yes, and began setting up the studio to accommodate this request.
The guest speaker needed to speak directly to the other participants in the US, so we set up a single Sony FX9, along with our teleprompter. There was no script for this session as it was a free-flowing discussion, but the teleprompter includes a clever arrangement of mirrors so our guest could be looking straight into the camera lens (desirable for connecting with your audience) and yet also see her fellow podcasters looking back at her, as if having a direct conversation.
We connected to the clients preferred podcast platform, Riverside, and once our guest Molly arrived we took a moment to set sound and lighting levels and were all set!
Using the video link, our guest was able to chat with the guys in the US before the main recording to establish areas of discussion. Thanks to the miracles of modern technology (and with a little help from our skilled technicians of course) the recording itself went without a hitch!
If you’re thinking of starting up (or continuing) a podcast series, or need a base for a video link into another podcast, then get in touch. Our studio is also suitable for many types of audio recording, such as audiobooks or voiceovers. Contact us today!
